What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) receives temperature data from the seat heating module for the left rear seat and has registered that it is too high. This can be caused by an internal fault in the module. The fault concerns the heating in the rear seat, not the temperature in the cabin.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the seat heating module (SHM)
- Internal fault in the left rear seat heating module (SHMRL)
What you can do
- 1Let the seat cool down completely before touching it, then check that the heating works without becoming too hot
- 2Check that nothing thick, such as a blanket or a cover not intended for seat heating, is laid over the seat
- 3Read off and clear the fault code, then road test the car with the seat heating on to see whether it returns
- 4With diagnostic equipment, follow the seat heater temperature in live data while the heat is on. It should rise when switched on and fall when switched off
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop read off and replace the seat heating module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The electric heating in the rear seat does not work
- The rear seat heating does not work or gets too hot
