Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The left temperature damper motor, which controls the mix of warm and cold air on the left side, has a fault according to the climate control module (CCM). The fault may be in the motor, in its control module, or in the calibration after a loss of power. The left side temperature may then differ from the setting.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the left temperature damper motor
- Incorrect calibration after loss of power
- Internal fault in the control module for the left temperature damper motor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Compare the temperature on the left and right sides by setting different values and feeling the air
- 3Read and clear the code, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 4Check that the connectors to the damper motor are secure and free from corrosion
- 5If the fault returns after clearing, have a workshop calibrate the climate control module and check the damper motor
Symptoms you may notice2
- Cabin temperature does not match the setting
- Temperature control or air conditioning does not work
