What does this fault code mean?
The recirculation damper motor, which decides whether the air in the car is taken from outside or from inside the cabin, has a fault according to the climate control module (CCM). The fault may be in the motor, in its control module, or in the calibration after a loss of power.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the recirculation damper motor
- Incorrect calibration after loss of power
- Internal fault in the control module for the recirculation damper motor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Try the recirculation mode and listen for whether the airflow changes
- 3Read and clear the code, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 4Check that the connectors to the damper motor are secure and clean
- 5If the fault returns after clearing, have a workshop calibrate the climate control module and check the damper motor
Symptoms you may notice2
- No recirculation of the air
- Temperature control or air conditioning does not work
