Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) has received a checksum in a message on LIN bus 2 that does not match, or found that two nodes share the same ID. This means the signal from a component on the bus is not correct. The cause may be interference or two components with the same ID.
Possible causes
- Communication interference
- Two LIN nodes with the same ID are installed in the car
What you can do
- 1Check that the right side damper motors and the defog damper sit in the positions their IDs indicate
- 2Check that the right side seat heating modules are correctly placed
- 3Has a damper motor recently been replaced? If so, check that it is fitted in the right place
- 4Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the IDs of the connected control modules and check that each matches its position
Symptoms you may notice5
- Mist on the windows and/or the outside mirrors
- Poor heating in the cabin
- Front seat heating does not operate
- Rear seat heating does not operate
- Windscreen defog or defrost does not work
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
