What does this fault code mean?
The passenger compartment fan, which the climate control module (CCM) monitors, is not working. The fault is caused by the fan being short-circuited to ground. Cabin temperature then does not match the setting, and air conditioning may stop working.
Possible causes
- Passenger compartment fan is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the climate system are intact
- 2Listen for whether the passenger compartment fan runs when the climate system is on
- 3Check with a multimeter that the fan wire has no contact with ground (the bodywork) when the connector is disconnected
- 4Check that the fan wiring is not chafed or pinched
- 5If the fault remains after checking the wiring, replace the fan if you can reach it, otherwise have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice2
- Cabin temperature does not match the setting
- Temperature control or air conditioning does not work
