Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The passenger compartment fan, which the climate control module (CCM) monitors, is not working. The fault is caused by the fan supply being short-circuited to supply voltage. Cabin temperature may then differ from the setting, and air conditioning may stop working.
Possible causes
- Passenger compartment fan is short-circuited to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the climate system are intact
- 2Listen for whether the passenger compartment fan runs when the climate system is on
- 3Check with a multimeter that the fan wire has no voltage when the connector is disconnected and the ignition is on
- 4Check that the fan wiring is not chafed or pinched
- 5If the fault remains after checking the wiring, replace the fan if you can reach it, otherwise have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice2
- Cabin temperature does not match the setting
- Temperature control or air conditioning does not work
