CCM-B13D915 - Heat Exchanger Temperature Sensor. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery or open
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The heat exchanger sensor gives a signal that the climate control module (CCM) reads as a short circuit to supply voltage or as an open circuit. The cause may be a damaged sensor, a damaged cable or a damaged connection. Temperature control may then be uneven.
Possible causes
- The heat exchanger sensor is damaged
- Damaged cable or connection
- The sensor is short-circuited to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Look for visible damage on the heat exchanger sensor
- 2Check that the sensor connector and cable are secure and free from corrosion
- 3Check that the sensor cable is not chafed or pinched
- 4Check with a multimeter that the sensor wire has no voltage when the connector is disconnected and the ignition is on
- 5If the code returns after clearing and no damage is visible, replace the sensor if you can reach it, otherwise have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice1
- Temperature control is uneven
