CCM-B1A6111 - Cabin Temperature Sensor. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to ground
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The signal from the cabin temperature sensor is too low, according to the climate control module (CCM). The fault is caused by the sensor being short-circuited to ground. The climate control then cannot read the correct cabin temperature, so cabin temperature may differ from the setting.
Possible causes
- The cabin temperature sensor is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Look for visible damage on the cabin temperature sensor
- 2Check that the sensor connector and cable are secure and free from corrosion
- 3Check that the sensor cable is not chafed or pinched
- 4Check with a multimeter that the sensor wire has no contact with ground (the bodywork) when the connector is disconnected
- 5If the code returns after clearing and no damage is visible, replace the sensor if you can reach it, otherwise have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice2
- Cabin temperature does not match the setting
- Temperature control or air conditioning does not work
