CCM-B1B7111 - Evaporator Temperature Sensor. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to ground
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The evaporator temperature sensor is short-circuited to ground, according to the climate control module (CCM). The signal becomes too low, so the module cannot read the correct temperature. Air conditioning and temperature control may then work less well.
Possible causes
- The evaporator temperature sensor is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the climate system are intact
- 2Look for visible damage on the evaporator temperature sensor
- 3Check that the sensor cable is not chafed or pinched
- 4Check with a multimeter that the sensor wire has no contact with ground (the bodywork) when the connector is disconnected
- 5If the code returns after clearing and no damage is visible, replace the sensor if you can reach it, otherwise have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice2
- Cabin temperature does not match the setting
- Temperature control or air conditioning does not work
