This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
Two or more damper motors on LIN bus 1 have the same identity, according to the climate control module (CCM). This may be because a damper motor was fitted in the wrong way, or because a new damper motor has been given an identity that already exists on the bus. This causes a conflict on the bus, and airflow and heating may then work incorrectly.
Possible causes
- Two damper motors with the same identity are installed on LIN bus 1
- A damper motor may have been installed in the wrong way
What you can do
- 1Has a damper motor recently been replaced? If so, check that it is fitted in the right place
- 2Check that the damper motors sit in the position their ID indicates
- 3Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 4Have a workshop identify the damper motors again with diagnostic equipment, since a new damper motor must be given its own identity
Symptoms you may notice5
- Mist on the windows and/or the outside mirrors
- Air flow problem
- Poor heating in the cabin
- Front seat heating does not operate
- Poor air quality in the cabin
