What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) has lost contact with the air quality sensor (AQS) on LIN bus 1, so the sensor cannot send its readings. Air quality in the cabin cannot then be monitored. The fault only applies to cars with electronic climate control (ECC) and may appear together with fault codes for other components on the bus.
Possible causes
- Break in LIN bus 1 wiring between the module and the air quality sensor
- Poor contact, corrosion or loose connections at the connectors
What you can do
- 1Check that the air quality sensor connector is secure and clean
- 2Clear the codes, road test the car and see whether they return
- 3Check with a multimeter that the wire between the module and the sensor is not open when the connectors are disconnected
- 4Check with a multimeter that the sensor has voltage and ground at the connector when the ignition is on
- 5If the fault remains and the wiring is intact, have a workshop replace the air quality sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor air quality in the cabin
