Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) gets data on the supply voltage to the central electronic module (CEM) over the CAN network, and that information is wrong. The fault is caused by the wiring being short-circuited to ground or having an open circuit, or by a poor connection or a half-burned fuse. Several functions may then work less well.
Possible causes
- Wiring short-circuited to ground
- Open circuit in the wiring
- Contact resistance
- A half-burned fuse for the climate control module
What you can do
- 1Inspect the fuse feeding the module and replace it if damaged
- 2Check that the connectors in the wiring are secure and clean
- 3Look for chafed or pinched wires
- 4Check with a multimeter that voltage is present at the climate control module connector when the ignition is on
- 5Clear the code and road test the car; if the fault remains, have a workshop check the relay in the central electronic module (CEM)
Symptoms you may notice5
- Mist on the windows and/or the outside mirrors
- The function button does not work
- The passenger compartment fan does not work
- The front seat heating does not operate
- Infotainment functions do not work
