What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) is disturbed on the MS-CAN network, either by another module sending faulty messages or by the module's own messages. The fault may stop the climate control system from working at all. The fault code is set when CAN communication starts.
Possible causes
- Short circuit between the CAN wires
- Open circuit in one of the CAN wires
What you can do
- 1Check that the battery is charged and that the battery terminals are clean and tight
- 2Check that the fuses are intact
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault codes in all control modules and note which ones show communication faults
- 4Leave the CEM in place for a CAN fault unless troubleshooting shows it is faulty
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the CAN network resistance

- Climate control does not work at all
What the fault can affect2
- The control module shuts itself off (bus-off) and stays off until the power supply is broken
- At the next power-on the control module tries to communicate again
