What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) no longer receives the information it needs from the central electronic module (CEM) over the CAN network, so it does not know which signals to use. The fault is caused by interruptions in the CAN communication or by the climate control module having a wrong signal configuration.
Possible causes
- Interrupted communication with the central electronic module (CEM)
- Intermittent open circuits or short circuits on the CAN wires
- Incorrect signal configuration in the climate control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the battery is charged and that the battery terminals are clean and tight
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM) first and follow them
- 3Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 4Leave the CEM in place for a CAN fault unless troubleshooting shows it is faulty
- 5If the fault remains and no other fault codes are present, have a workshop download new software
Symptoms you may notice2
- Climate control does not work at all
- Temperature control or air conditioning does not work
