What does this fault code mean?

The generator control module (ACM) has told the CEM that the generator is overheating. Overheating may be caused by a blocked air inlet or outlet at the generator, or by a defective generator. The battery may discharge and the starter motor may turn slowly.

The air inlet or outlet at the generator is blocked

What you can do

1Check that the air inlet and outlet at the generator are not blocked by leaves, dirt or debris. Clear them out
2Check that the generator drive belt is intact and correctly fitted
3With the ignition on, check that the charging warning goes out when the engine starts
4If the fault returns, replace the generator if you can, otherwise have a workshop do it
5After the work, clear the code and drive the car to see whether it returns
