What does this fault code mean?
The CEM has registered faulty or altered gearbox control software (TCM). New software must be downloaded into the TCM, which a workshop does. There are no known symptoms for the driver.
Possible causes
- Faulty or modified software in the TCM
What you can do
- 1Has the owner changed the gearbox software? Discuss it with the owner first, since a change that did not cause the fault should not be corrected
- 2Check that the battery terminals and cable connections are clean and tight, so the download is not interrupted
- 3Software is downloaded with diagnostic equipment and can only be done by a workshop
- 4After the download, clear the code and check that it does not return
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
