What does this fault code mean?
The CEM registers that the signal from the fuel pump is missing, and the fault is permanent. The engine then does not start, and the starter motor may crank the engine without it firing.
Possible causes
- No signal from the fuel pump
What you can do
- 1Check the fuel pump fuse. If it has blown, replace it once. If it blows again, use a multimeter to check the wire after it has no contact with ground
- 2Check that the connectors to the CEM and to the engine control module are seated and not corroded or chafed
- 3With a diagnostic tool, activate the fuel pump and listen for it to start
- 4After the work, clear the code and check that the engine starts
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start, and the starter motor cranks it
