What does this fault code mean?
The CEM has at some point registered that the shift lock output is too high. The fault is intermittent, so it may have occurred before without being active now. The starter motor may then fail to work.
Possible causes
- The inhibited shifting output is shorted to plus, so the relay is not activated
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off. Check that the shift lock signal wire is not shorted to supply voltage. Use a multimeter if you can
- 2Check that the connectors to the CEM and the shift lock circuit are seated and not corroded or chafed
- 3If the fault remains, have a workshop check the wire, since it is hard to reach
- 4After the work, clear the code and check that the engine starts
Symptoms you may notice2
- The starter motor does not work
- The engine does not start
