What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) has received information from the blower fan motor that its power consumption is too high, so the fault code is set. A motor that draws too much current may be damaged and is working harder than it should. The fault is checked by running the blower fan.
Possible causes
- Faulty blower fan motor
- Fan wheel running stiff or blocked
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and run the blower fan to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fan wheel turns freely with nothing in its way
- 3Check that the fan connector is secure and free from corrosion
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal and diagnostic wiring has no contact with voltage or ground (the body)
- 5Remedy what is found, and have a workshop replace the motor if it is damaged
Symptoms you may notice2
- Blower fan does not work
- Air flow problem
What the fault can affect1
- The blower fan motor does not start
