What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) has registered that the signal returned from the blower fan is outside the expected range. This can be caused by a short to voltage or a break in the circuit to the fan. The fault is checked by running the fan.
Possible causes
- Fan short-circuited to voltage supply
- Open circuit in the fan circuit
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, run the fan and check whether it starts and runs
- 2Check that the fan wheel turns freely with nothing blocking it
- 3Check that the fan connector is secure and free from corrosion
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire between the control module and the fan is not broken and has no contact with voltage supply
- 5If no fault is found in the wiring, the fan is the likely cause and a workshop should replace it
Symptoms you may notice1
- Ventilation fan does not work
