What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) monitors the fuel pump in the parking heater. If the signal in the fuel pump circuit is too high, for example because of a short to voltage, the code is set. The fault shows when the heater is active and may stop the parking heater from working.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to voltage supply
- Defective fuel pump
- Damaged fuel pump
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and check that the heater starts with only the ignition switched on, with a buzzing sound from it
- 2Check that the fuel pump connectors are secure and free from corrosion
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the fuel pump has no contact with voltage supply
- 4If the wire is intact and the fault remains, a workshop should replace the fuel pump
- 5After the repair, check that the cabin heating improves
Symptoms you may notice2
- Poor heating in the passenger compartment
- Parking heater does not work
