What does this fault code mean?
The shared feed for the fuel pump, water pump and fan is missing or grounded, according to the central electronic module (CEM). The fault shows when the heater is active. The cause may be poor contact, an earth fault or an open circuit in the power supply wire.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the control unit connector
- Power supply circuit short-circuited to ground
- Open circuit in the power supply wire
What you can do
- 1Check that the heater starts with only the ignition on and that a buzzing sound can be heard from it
- 2Check the control unit connector for loose connections, corrosion and damage
- 3Remedy the connectors and check the components, then test-run the heater
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the power supply wire has no break and no contact with ground (the body)
- 5Clear the fault code once the repair is done and check that it does not return
