What does this fault code mean?
The CEM has registered a high reading from the lock position sensor in the left rear door after locking. The fault is intermittent, so it has occurred before but may not be active now. The cause may be a lock stuck in the unlocked position, a fault in the wiring or in the lock motor circuit.
Possible causes
- Lock stuck in the unlocked position
- Open circuit or short to voltage supply in the lock position sensor signal wire
- Relay fault or open circuit in the relay supply, such as a defective fuse
- Fault in the locking motor circuit
- Fault in the rear electronic module (REM)
What you can do
- 1On a V70 police car in Sweden this code is normal because of the rear door deadlocks, so called bus locks; it need not be cleared or remedied
- 2Check that the lock has not stuck or jammed with the inside lock button, and that the lock unit is correctly fitted
- 3Check the connectors at the central electronic module and the lock unit for loose connections and corrosion
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, lock and unlock the car and follow the lock position status of the left rear door in live data
- 5Check the fuse for the rear electronic module and replace it if it has blown
