What does this fault code mean?
The CEM has registered too low a signal in the glass breakage loop for the rear windows. The glass breakage loop is a wire in the windows that forms part of the alarm. The fault is intermittent, so it may have occurred earlier without being active now. The cause may be a break in one of the glass breakage loops or in the wiring between them.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the left glass breakage loop
- Open circuit in the right glass breakage loop
- Break in the tailgate glass breakage loop
- Break in a cable between the glass breakage loops
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the connectors at the central electronic module and at the glass breakage loops are secure and free from corrosion
- 3Use a multimeter to check along the signal wire from the central electronic module, starting at the ground point, and follow the circuit back to find a break
- 4Disconnect the connector at the tailgate and check that the glass breakage loop has no break
- 5Remedy what is found and check that the lamp and status panel show correctly again
Symptoms you may notice1
- Indicator lamp or status panel shows a faulty indication
