What does this fault code mean?
The CEM has registered too high a signal in the glass breakage loop for the rear windows. The glass breakage loop is a wire in the windows that forms part of the alarm. The fault is intermittent, so it may have arisen earlier without being active now. The cause is a short to voltage in the wiring to, between or from the glass breakage loops.
Possible causes
- Short to voltage in the wiring to the glass breakage loops
- Short to voltage in the wiring between the glass breakage loops
- Short to voltage in the wiring from the glass breakage loops
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the connectors at the central electronic module and at the glass breakage loops are secure and free from corrosion
- 3Use a multimeter along the signal wire, starting at the ground point, and check that the wire has no contact with battery voltage
- 4Disconnect the connector at the tailgate and check that the glass breakage loop has no contact with voltage supply
- 5Remedy what is found and check that the lamp and status panel show correctly again
Symptoms you may notice1
- Indicator lamp or status panel shows a faulty indication
