Possible causes
- Power feed to the alarm LED is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition on and check whether the alarm lamp lights constantly; if it does, the wire from the control unit is probably in contact with voltage
- 2If the alarm lamp does not light, test it by activating it, with a diagnostic tool if you have one
- 3Check the connectors at the alarm lamp and at the control unit for loose connections and corrosion
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the power feed to the alarm lamp has no contact with ground (the body)
- 5If the wiring is intact and the fault remains, the alarm lamp should be replaced
