What does this fault code mean?
The CEM has been told that the siren control module has registered an internal fault, or that the vehicle battery has been discharged. The alarm may then fail to start when needed. The cause may be a damaged fuse, an internal fault in the siren or too low voltage in the battery or in the siren's internal battery.
Possible causes
- Damaged fuse
- Internal fault in the siren control module
- Battery voltage too low
- Too low voltage in the siren's internal battery
What you can do
- 1Check that the vehicle battery is correctly charged, and charge it if needed
- 2Close all doors, lock the car with the remote control and then unlock it again
- 3Clear the fault code and read it again to see whether it is still present
- 4Check that the fuse for the alarm is intact and replace it if it has blown
- 5If the fault keeps returning, the siren may need replacing, which a workshop should do
Symptoms you may notice3
- Alarm does not start
- No visible or audible signal from the alarm
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
