Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The siren control module has registered an internal fault in its built-in tilt sensor, and the CEM has received this message, which sets the fault code. The tilt sensor is used to raise the alarm if the car is moved or lifted while the alarm is armed.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the siren control module
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and read it again to see whether it returns
- 2Check whether the fault returns after a few locking operations; a single fault may have been caused by interference at start-up
- 3Lock the car and check that the alarm lamp flashes as it should
- 4If the fault returns, the siren control module needs replacing, which a workshop should do, and the correct variant with a built-in tilt sensor must be fitted
Symptoms you may notice3
- Alarm does not start
- No visible or audible signal from the alarm
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
