What does this fault code mean?
The CEM checks the glass breakage loop by measuring its voltage whenever the alarm is switched on. The loop should normally be connected to ground. The fault code is set when the voltage is not ground, which means the loop has a break.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the glass breakage loop
- Cable short to voltage supply
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and activate the alarm to see whether the fault code returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire has no break and no contact with voltage
- 3Check the intermediate connectors for loose connections and corrosion
- 4Disconnect the connector at the tailgate and check the glass breakage loop for a break
- 5Remedy what is found and check that the alarm works again
Symptoms you may notice4
- Alarm does not respond to the sensor
