The CEM checks the tamper protection for the glass breakage loop by measuring the voltage on the connection whenever the alarm is switched on. The voltage should normally differ from ground. The fault code is set when the supply wire is short-circuited to ground.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and activate the alarm to see whether the fault returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire has no break and no contact with ground (the body)
- 3Check the intermediate connectors for loose connections and corrosion
- 4Disconnect the connector at the tailgate and check the glass breakage loop for a break
- 5Remedy what is found and check that the alarm works again
Symptoms you may notice4
- Alarm does not respond to the sensor
- Message in the display
