5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The CEM checks the communication with the antenna unit around the ignition switch. The fault code is set when the communication works badly, and it can be set by a temporary interference or if the antenna unit has stopped working. The starter motor may then not turn.
Possible causes
- Brief disturbance in the link to the antenna unit
- Antenna unit not working
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2If the fault does not return, it was probably a temporary interference and the antenna unit need not be replaced
- 3Check the connectors at the antenna unit for loose connections and corrosion
- 4If the fault returns often, a workshop should replace the antenna unit
Symptoms you may notice1
- Starter motor does not turn
