What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is set when the control unit finds that the antenna unit is faulty while the immobilizer tries to communicate, and it can also be set by temporary disturbances in the communication. The fault is intermittent, so it may have occurred earlier without being active now. The engine may then not start.
Possible causes
- Brief disturbance in the link to the antenna unit
- Internal fault in the antenna unit
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2If the fault does not return, it was probably a temporary disturbance and the antenna unit need not be replaced
- 3Check the connectors at the antenna unit for loose connections and corrosion
- 4If the fault returns often, a workshop should replace the antenna unit
Symptoms you may notice2
- Engine does not start
- Starter motor does not operate
