What does this fault code mean?
The steering column lock module sends messages to the CEM showing the lock status, and the CEM checks them continuously. The fault code is set when the messages arrive in the wrong order. The code is part of a larger fault-tracing for the symptom that the starter motor does not turn.
Possible causes
- Internal error in the steering lock control unit
What you can do
- 1If the starter motor does not turn, troubleshoot the starting system first, for example the battery and fuses
- 2The fault may be intermittent; if it does not return, no further action is needed
- 3Function test: put the key in and check that the steering lock releases and the wheel turns
- 4If the fault returns, a workshop should replace the steering lock control unit
