Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The CEM has registered that the signal on the relay coil for the window lift in the left rear door is missing or too low when the window is lowered. The fault is intermittent, so it may have occurred earlier without being active now. The cause may be poor contact in the relay socket, a loose or defective relay with a break or earth fault in the coil, or a defective control unit.
Possible causes
- Oxidation on relay socket contacts
- Relay is loose or missing
- Defective relay with an open circuit or earth fault in the coil
- Defective control unit
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and test the left rear window lift to see whether the fault returns
- 2Check that the relay is firmly seated in its holder and that the contacts in the relay socket are not oxidised
- 3Check the relay visually and replace it if it is damaged
- 4Check the connectors to the control unit for loose connections and corrosion
- 5If the relay works but the fault remains, a workshop should check the control unit
Symptoms you may notice1
- Electric window lift does not work
