What does this fault code mean?
CEM checks the signal from the cruise control Resume button. If the CEM notes that the Resume button has been held on for too long, the fault code is set, and then the cruise control does not work at all. The cause may be the button sticking in the pressed position or a damaged button.
Possible causes
- The Resume button stays stuck down in the pressed position
- Damaged Resume button
What you can do
- 1Check that the Resume button does not stick or stay jammed in the pressed position, and press it once to see that it springs back
- 2Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 3If the fault is intermittent, it may have been caused by interference at start-up, and no further action is needed if it does not return
- 4If the button is damaged or sticks, a workshop should replace it
