What does this fault code mean?
CEM checks the tailgate lock motor through a directly connected link. The fault code is set when the supply wire to the lock motor is short-circuited to ground, and then the tailgate cannot be locked or unlocked.
Possible causes
- Supply wire to the tailgate lock motor short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the wire to the tailgate lock motor for chafing, pinching and loose connections
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire has no contact with ground (the body)
- 3Remedy what is found and clear the fault code
- 4If the fault returns after the repair, a workshop should replace the tailgate lock motor
