CEM reads the signal from the up button on the steering wheel (RTI). If the button has been held on for too long, the fault code is set. The RTI and navigation buttons on the steering wheel then do not work as they should.
Possible causes
- The up button has stuck down in the pressed position
- Damaged up button
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the button status in live data and check that it changes when you press and release the button
- 2Check that the up button does not stick in the pressed position, and press it once to see that it springs back
- 3Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 4If the button is damaged, a workshop should replace it
