What does this fault code mean?
The right-hand module (GDL) has signalled an internal fault to the central electronic module (CEM). The fault is in the module itself and not in the wiring. If the fault is intermittent it may have come from interference when the module started up, and it may no longer be present. If the fault is permanent, the module must be replaced.
Possible causes
- Faulty internal electronics in the right-hand GDL module
What you can do
- 1Switch on the low beam and see whether it works now. If it works but the code keeps returning, the fault may be intermittent
- 2Clear the code and test drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 3Xenon lamps run on high voltage. Do not work on the lamp housing or the wiring at the right headlamp yourself
- 4Have a workshop replace the module if the fault is permanent or keeps returning. After replacement the position sensors must be calibrated
Symptoms you may notice1
- The low beam does not work
