What does this fault code mean?
The code indicates that the high beam flash switch has been activated for too long, or is in a position that is not permitted. The high beam can then stay lit constantly. The fault lies either in the stalk by the steering wheel or in the link to the steering wheel module.
Possible causes
- The high beam switch is damaged
- Communication fault with the steering wheel module (SWM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the flash stalk moves freely and does not stick on or sit in a position that is not allowed
- 2If the fault only comes now and then it may be intermittent, and a test drive will show whether the code returns
- 3Switch the high beam on and off with the stalk and check that it lights and goes out as expected
- 4If the stalk works but the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the link to the steering wheel module and replace the switch if needed
Symptoms you may notice1
- The high beam is constantly lit
