Applies to the following models:
4 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
Show models by year and engine (4)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named too high signal, it means that the right-hand GDL module receives too little supply voltage. A broken signal wire between the CEM and the module can give the same message, so both are checked.
Possible causes
- Supply voltage to the right-hand GDL module is too low
- Open circuit in the signal wire running to the right-hand GDL module
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check that the connectors at the right-hand module are clean, firmly fitted and undamaged
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire between the CEM and the right-hand module is not broken and has no contact with ground
- 3Check that the right-hand module has a good earth connection, meaning the earth connection is tight and clean
- 4With the engine running and the low beam on, use a multimeter to check that the supply voltage is not below normal. The supply is shared with the left-hand module
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the supply and the signal wire
Symptoms you may notice1
- The low beam does not work
