What does this fault code mean?
The left-hand gas discharge lamp module (GDL) registers that it is installed on the right-hand side. The code is also stored when a new module is fitted on the left-hand side. The low beam may then work poorly or not at all.
Possible causes
- The left-hand GDL module is fitted on the right-hand side
- New gas discharge lamp module (GDL) fitted on the left-hand side
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check that the connectors at the left-hand module are clean, firmly fitted and undamaged
- 2Check that the left-hand module has not been fitted on the right-hand side. Each module must sit on its own side
- 3If a new module has been fitted on the left-hand side, it needs programming and the position sensors must be calibrated. This is a workshop task
- 4Clear the code after checking and do a test drive to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice2
- The low beam does not work
- The low beam works at some times and not at others
