Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the CEM registers an internal fault while the reversing light relay is activated. The reversing light then stays on constantly. The fault lies in the module itself, so the wiring is not the first suspect.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the module
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off and on and check whether the reversing light goes out as it should
- 2Clear the code and see whether it returns after a test drive
- 3Have a workshop replace the module if the fault is permanent. If it comes and goes, it may have started when the module started up
Symptoms you may notice1
- The reversing light stays on constantly
