What does this fault code mean?
This code concerns the hazard warning flashers and the glove compartment light. The central electronic module (CEM) has registered a fault, and the fault is intermittent. The cause may be a short to ground or overheating in one of the lamps. The interior lighting does not work while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- The hazard warning flasher or glove compartment light is short-circuited to ground
- The hazard warning flasher or glove compartment light has overheated
What you can do
- 1Check whether the glove compartment light comes on when switched on and goes out when switched off
- 2If something has become very hot, let it cool and then check whether the fault returns
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the wire to the hazard warning flasher has no contact with ground (the body)
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop check the circuit, since intermittent faults can be hard to find
