This code concerns the left-hand turn signal. The central electronic module (CEM) has registered a fault in the circuit, and the fault is intermittent. The cause may be a short to ground, an open circuit or a faulty shunt in the flasher circuit.
Possible causes
- The direction indicator is short-circuited to ground
- Open circuit in the direction indicator circuit
- Faulty shunt in the flasher circuit
What you can do
- 1Check that the left turn signal works when switched on and flashes as it should
- 2Look for chafing and pinched spots on the wire to the left turn signal
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the wire is unbroken and has no contact with ground
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop check the shunt in the flasher circuit
