The CEM monitors the hazard warning button. The code is set when the button has been active for too long, for example because it has jammed in the pressed position. The hazard warning flashers then do not work.
Possible causes
- The hazard warning switch has jammed in the pressed position
- Damaged hazard warning switch
What you can do
- 1Check that the hazard warning button is not stuck in the pressed position and springs back up when pressed again
- 2If the fault only comes now and then it may be intermittent. A test drive shows whether the code returns
- 3Clear the code after the check and see whether it comes back
- 4Have a workshop replace the hazard warning button if it is damaged
