What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent: the CEM registered a break in the signal to the front washer relay on an earlier occasion, but the break is no longer present. Front washing may then fail.
Possible causes
- Break in the signal wire
- Break in the power supply to the relay
- Faulty relay
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and check whether it returns with the ignition on
- 2Check that the relay for the front washer motor sits firmly and is not loose
- 3Check that the contacts are clean and free of oxidation, and that the connector has no play
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply to the relay has no break, with the ignition on
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the relay if the contacts and wiring are in order
