What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns two positions on the windshield wiper lever, single sweep and high speed wiping, being active together for longer than is normal. The central electronic module (CEM) reacts to this, and the wipers may then run only at the lowest speed.
Possible causes
- Damaged windshield wiper lever
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and check whether it returns with the ignition on
- 2Test the lever positions one at a time and see whether single sweep and high speed are active together
- 3If the fault only shows now and then, operate the lever several times to see whether a position sticks
- 4Check that the lever is not damaged and returns to its rest position when released
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the wiper switch
Symptoms you may notice1
- The wipers only work at the lowest speed
What the fault can affect1
