What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent: the signal across the relay coil for the rear washer motor was missing or too low on an earlier occasion, but it is no longer present. The cause may be oxidation in the relay socket contacts, a relay that is not fitted, or a relay coil shorted to ground.
Possible causes
- Oxidation in the relay socket contacts
- The relay is not fitted
- Short to ground in the relay coil
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and check whether it returns; an intermittent fault can be a temporary disturbance
- 2Check that the relay for the rear washer is securely connected and not defective
- 3Check the fuse for the relay circuit of the rear washer
- 4Check that the contacts in the relay socket and at the control module are free of oxidation and contact resistance
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop repair the relay or the wiring
Symptoms you may notice1
- The rear washer motor does not run
