What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the relay coil for the headlamp washing getting no signal or too low a signal. The headlamp washing then does not work. The cause may be a blown fuse for the washer pump, a signal wire with a break or a short to ground, a damaged or missing relay, or a short circuit in the high-pressure pump.
Possible causes
- Fuse for the washer pump has blown
- Signal wire has a break or is shorted to ground
- Relay defective or missing
- Short circuit in the pump for high-pressure washing
What you can do
- 1Check that the high-pressure washer fuse is intact and replace it if it has blown
- 2After replacing the fuse, clear the codes and check that the low washer fluid warning lamp is not lit
- 3Test the headlamp washing with the lever; the high-pressure washing does not start every time, so try several times
- 4If the fuse blows again, have a workshop check the high-pressure washer pump, since an internal short in it can cause the fault
- 5If no fault is found, try a new relay for the headlamp washing
