Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault code points to a particular wheel, the control module cannot always determine which one. It could relate to any one of the four tyre pressure sensors. It is stored when the battery voltage in one of the sensors is too low.
Possible causes
- Low battery voltage in one of the tyre pressure sensors
What you can do
- 1Test locking and unlocking the car with the remote control. If it does not work, first check the communication between the remote receiver and the control module
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the frozen values for the fault code and note the sensor ID that was stored
- 3If you find a matching ID, have a workshop replace that wheel's tyre pressure sensor, since it is probably the one that caused the fault
- 4Clear the fault code and road test to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice2
- Amber warning symbol and text message in the display
- Tyre pressure monitoring warning lights and chimes do not show the correct status
